DJI has completed a SAIL III declaration of conformity dossier for its Dock 3 station and the Matrice 4D series. In practice: the engineering work required by the design-related operational safety objectives (OSOs) has already been done by the manufacturer; the operator can rely on this evidence in its SORA instead of rebuilding everything from scratch.

What this changes for you

automated BVLOS missions (infrastructure inspection, drone-as-first-responder, perimeter security) require less technical dossier work. Note: this grants no approval — the authority remains the judge, and country-specific requirements apply.

Worth noting

SAIL III covers medium risk. Beyond that (SAIL IV+), an EASA Design Verification Report is still required.
